Tumor Markers
Tumour marker tests measure substances in the blood that a clinician may ask for as one part of assessing or monitoring a condition.
Patients whose clinician has asked for a marker test, or who want to understand what such a test can and cannot tell them.
The clinic takes the sample, sends the result to your clinician, and makes sure the result is explained to you in the context of your own situation rather than on its own.
It is a standard blood test. A marker result on its own does not confirm or rule out a diagnosis, so always discuss what it means with your clinician.
