A specialist consultation is an appointment with a clinician who focuses on a particular area of medicine.

Patients who have been referred, or whose concern needs input from a specialist.

The clinic tells you which specialists it can arrange, when they hold clinics, and what you need to bring. If a service is not available, staff will say so rather than leave you waiting.

Bring any referral letter, previous results and a list of your medicines. Ask in advance which specialist you will see and what the visit will cover.
