Laboratory Tests

The laboratory carries out the tests a clinician asks for, using samples such as blood or urine.

Patients who have been asked to have a test, or who want to ask the clinic which tests are appropriate for their situation.

Clinic staff take the sample, explain how long results usually take, and make sure the results reach the clinician who asked for them so they can talk them through with you.

Some tests need you to prepare beforehand, for example by not eating for a few hours. Always ask the clinic what preparation your test needs before you come in.
