ECG
An ECG (electrocardiogram) is a short, painless recording of the electrical signals your heart produces each time it beats.
Patients whose clinician wants to check the heart's rhythm, for example because of palpitations, dizziness, chest discomfort or fainting.
The clinic team attaches small sticky pads to your chest, arms and legs, records the trace, and passes the result to the clinician who requested it.
An ECG usually takes only a few minutes. You lie still while the recording is taken. There is no need to prepare in most cases, but confirm with the clinic when you book.
